FAQ — The Terminator Exterminator | Indianapolis, IN

Question 1

How long does a typical pest control treatment take?

Accepted Answer

Most standard treatments take between 60 and 90 minutes for an average-sized home. Bed bug heat treatments are the exception — those typically require 4 to 8 hours depending on the size of the affected area. We'll give you a time estimate when you book.

Question 2

How soon will I see results after treatment?

Accepted Answer

For most pests, you'll notice a significant reduction within 24 to 72 hours. Some treatments — particularly for cockroaches and bed bugs — work over 1 to 3 weeks as the product spreads through the population. It's actually normal to see more pest activity immediately after treatment as they are flushed out.

Question 3

Do I need to be home during the treatment?

Accepted Answer

For interior treatments, yes — an adult must be present. For exterior-only services, you don't need to be home as long as we have access to the areas being treated. We'll confirm the details when scheduling.

Question 4

How many treatments will I need?

Accepted Answer

Many pest problems are resolved in one or two visits. More persistent infestations — such as bed bugs, cockroaches, or fleas — may require a follow-up treatment 2 to 3 weeks after the initial service. We'll always be upfront about what to expect before we start.

Question 5

Are your treatments safe for children and pets?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We use only EPA-registered products applied by licensed technicians. We'll advise you on any re-entry waiting periods — typically 30 minutes to 2 hours for interior treatments — after which the treated areas are safe for children and pets. We're happy to discuss specific products used before your appointment.

Question 6

Do I need to remove my pets before treatment?

Accepted Answer

For interior treatments, we recommend removing pets (including fish tanks, which should be covered and air pumps turned off) from treated areas during the service and for the re-entry period afterward. We'll give you specific instructions based on the treatment type when you book.

Question 7

Do I need to prepare my home before the technician arrives?

Accepted Answer

Preparation varies by service. For cockroach and bed bug treatments, we'll send you a preparation checklist in advance — this typically includes clearing under sinks, moving furniture slightly away from walls, and bagging or removing food items. For most other services, minimal preparation is needed.

Question 8

Are your products safe for the environment?

Accepted Answer

We use integrated pest management (IPM) principles, which means we apply the least-invasive, most targeted treatment possible. All products are EPA-registered and applied only where needed to minimize environmental impact.

Question 9

Do you offer a service guarantee?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every service includes a follow-up visit guarantee. If pests return between treatments, we come back at no additional charge. We stand behind our work and won't consider a job done until you're satisfied.

Question 10

What happens if the treatment doesn't work?

Accepted Answer

Contact us and we'll schedule a follow-up inspection at no cost. We'll assess what's happening, adjust our approach if needed, and re-treat the affected areas. Our goal is complete elimination — not just a temporary fix.

Question 11

How long does the treatment protection last?

Accepted Answer

Most exterior barrier treatments remain effective for 60 to 90 days depending on weather conditions. Interior treatments vary by product and pest type. We'll advise you on the expected protection window and recommended re-treatment schedule for your specific situation.

Question 12

How quickly can you come out?

Accepted Answer

We offer same-day and next-day appointments across the greater Indianapolis area, subject to availability. For urgent situations — active wasp nests, severe infestations — call us directly at 1-844-BUG-9111 and we'll do our best to prioritize your visit.

Question 13

How much does pest control cost?

Accepted Answer

Pricing depends on the pest type, severity of the infestation, and size of your property. Our services start at $89 for spiders and go up to $299 for bed bug treatments. Visit our Pricing page for a full breakdown, or contact us for a free on-site estimate.

Question 14

Do you offer free estimates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer free on-site estimates for all services. A technician will assess your property, identify the pest and extent of the infestation, and provide a clear quote before any work begins — no obligation.

Question 15

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We serve Indianapolis and the surrounding areas including Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Greenwood, Westfield, Zionsville, and Lawrence. Not sure if we cover your area? Give us a call and we'll let you know.

Question 16

What can I do to prevent pests from coming back?

Accepted Answer

The most effective prevention steps are sealing entry points (gaps around pipes, windows, and doors), eliminating moisture sources, storing food in airtight containers, keeping clutter to a minimum, and maintaining a clean kitchen. Our technicians will give you specific prevention tips tailored to the pest we treated.

Question 17

How often should I schedule preventive pest control?

Accepted Answer

For most homes, a quarterly exterior treatment is the most effective way to maintain a pest-free environment year-round. We can set up a recurring service schedule that fits your needs and budget.
